Dolphin Dreamers - Our Ethos
Suffice to say.... We are against cruelty of any kind to any creature.
We are against cetacea in captivity and do not support any individual or company whose activities, profit from, harm or create damage whatsoever to the environment. Our pages include Information, pictures and features on the Moray Firth Dolphins, Cardigan Bay dolphins, whale and dolphin pictures and stories. Coming Soon Much More on our ethos and campaigns we support. A little about us As a child, I have a vague memory of going along to Dudley Zoo where a killer whale named 'Cuddles' was imprisoned in a concrete tank and I also remmber other cetaceans being held captive there. As I grew to understand more I realised that captivity to these animals just wasnt a good thing to support.... A view I hold very strongly. Living in the Midlands of England, I often get a strange response when I tell people that much of my life is based on dolphins, afterall, it is hard to get much further from the sea. It came as a huge surprise when years later I found out that here in the UK we actually have our own population living FREELY in UK waters.
Moray Firth and Cardigan Bay Wales are two of the key areas in the UK to see wild dolphins although there are numerous other areas of the UK coastline where marine mammals are now being sighted frequently.
Its hard to forget my very first glimpse from the car park in New Quay. That first awareness of something in the water, and the depth of excitement and emotion as that first wild dolphin came into sight.
So began my love of dolphins and something of a spiritual journey which has continued over the years and from which Dolphin Dreamers was born.
Dolphin Dreamers has been around since early 2001, the result of a life long ambition to be involved in some way with these beautiful creatures.
We offer dolphin adoptions via the WWF Adopt A Dolphin project. |
